More info
Ferro Manganese is an alloy of iron and manganese containing usually about 80% manganese. Ferro Manganese is used mainly to counteract the bad effects of sulfur. It also acts as a deoxidizer and combines with sulfur, thereby improving the hot-working properties of the product. It imparts metallurgical properties such as increased strength, hardness toughness and hardenability.
High Carbon Ferromanganese (HC-FeMn) High Carbon Ferromanganese’s effects when added to steel: Manganese has an important influence on the structure and properties of steel, depending on the amount used and the combined effect with other alloying elements. Among all other alloying elements, manganese has the strongest effect on the hardenability of steels. Manganese improves the tensile strength, workability, toughness, hardness and resistance to abrasion. It also reacts with the remaining sulphur in the steel, thus preventing hot shortness.
Low Carbon Ferromanganese (LC-FeMn) Low Carbon Ferromanganese constitutes approximately 80% of manganese and 1% of carbon with lower contents of sulphur, phosphorous and silicon. Low Carbon Ferromanganese is mostly used in the welding industry. It is an essential ingredient for making high-strength low-alloy steel and stainless steel.
Medium Carbon Ferromanganese (MC-FeMn) Medium Carbon Ferro Manganese is also used as an alloying constituent for Stainless and Heat resistance steel, Structural steel and Anti-Abrasion steel.
